Compassion vs. Inclusion

The neurodiversity movement tries to redefine the problem of mental disability by suggesting that people with mental disabilities are meerly different but equally healthy; that a healthy brain type is a “culturally constructed fiction”. [1]
The effort has the cruel effect. Will anyone pretend that a lame man can run the 100 meter dash with healthy adults? He cannot move his legs. It is cruel to include him in the race.
What is necessary is compassion. Pity the disabled child that does not have the nueral capacity to learn with other children.
